Welcome to our website

We are Pete and Bev Hellewell, we live in lovely part of rural

Cheshire but we both originate from yorkshire. Our first breed

of dog was the Newfoundland of which we had three, Classy a

black bitch, Yogi a big brown male and Woody a cuddly brown

male, sadly all of them are now gone.

I first got involved in leonbergers in 1995 when i met and fell in love with a male leonberger called Fiscus, he was taking part in a good citizens test and I was there doing the same with my Newfy. I then got friendly with his owner carol who started to come to our water training days, where pete and i were trainers in the canis major newfoundland water group at sale in manchester. Our friendship developed and i was growing to love the breed, then out of the blue Carol told me there was a possibilty of a Fiscus son and was I interested, you bet I was and along came Kinghern Albertine of Alfross better known as Zorro. I had at the time three newfies who all enjoyed water work and I soon found out that Zorro loved the water too. I then decided to have a go at showing him and he was quite successful his greatest achievement was gaining 3rd at his first crufts and the following year 2nd, sadly we lost Zorro at the very good age of 12yrs and 8mths at the end of january 2008. Over the years our Leo pack has grown and in 2006 I decided to breed my first litter from Fendi, Ch Alfross Grizina's Idunna who was bred by Carol to a beautiful male in Holland called Balou, Memicedaiska Pamelausan Balou. We had eleven lovely puppies of which one bitch Kimya and a male Aplin went to Holland and another male pup Shiku went back to the famous Dragongardens Kennel in Sweden where Petra Junehall has the grandfather to the pups, the wonderful Int CH Grizzly Vom Dreiburgenland who is still winning top awards at the grand age of 10yrs, incidently Fendi's mother Ina Fin CH Bjorntassen Diana is still fit and well at over 9yrs.
